Back in 2020, the brilliant Amadea Music Productions released my first full length Hybrid Orchestral Album, "Chaos Theory". This has been distributed on all major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube. It is also available for purchase and licencing on Bandcamp and directly through Amadea Music Productions. Ever since this release, I've wanted to compose more and more!

Hello and Welcome
My name is Pete Checkley and I am a Media Composer.
I specialise in various types of composition and sound design for multiple visual media platforms with the emphasis on cinematic composition.
Understanding the nature of 'Composition for Media' and the supporting role it assumes is of paramount importance. Every composition is meticulously created and assured to enhance the audience experience of visual media, without ever overstating it's own importance. The value-added nature of this form of composition or design is crucial when evaluating its success. Not merely the composition itself.
I fully understand the importance of effective communication between myself and any clients and I am comfortable with the micro-management approach when developing a project. I am equally am congenial with macro-management (the 'just tell me when it's finished' method). It is client preference.
Experience gained so far has provided the opportunity to work with various briefs and essential criteria, along with project milestones and deadlines. I pride myself on the professionalism to deliver. If you are not happy, I am not happy.
Achieving excellence is not possible without cutting edge technology. All compositions utilise the most modern hardware and software currently available. Powerful workstations along with multiple professional libraries help create the most immersive and realistic sound possible. Projects are mixed and mastered ‘in-house’ to improve turnaround and manage costs. Professional monitors and a sound treated space help polish a finished piece.

What service do I offer?
Are you a publisher looking to expand your library for potential placements? Are you a Movie Director or Project Manager who needs music for your next project? If so then I am the composer for you. My philosophy is to create music that enhances and accompanies, not over powers. I work with several publishers and directors, creating a huge range of music for placements.
What software do I use?
I use industry standard software such as Cubase Pro 12, iZotope mastering products with premier sound libraries from Spitfire Audio, Heavyocity, 8Dio, Orchestral Tools and Native Instruments. My studio uses powerful synths such as Omnisphere 2, Falcon 2, U-He Collection and Arturia V Collection.
What is the time scale?
I work out of my home studio so there are no limitations on studio time. My strengths are working to a variety of briefs, meeting deadlines and making quick revisions. I can also make multiple cues in the same style as one submission. You name it and I'll give it a go!
